Kangaroo Valley, Australia

Kangaroo Valley is a beautiful valley about 2 hours drive south of Sydney, in the Southern Highlands.

An abundance of wildlife including kangaroos and wombats make this a nature-lovers paradise. Native Australian bush contrasts with rainforest on the steep hillsides and impressive sandstone cliffs which catch the golden sunsets perfectly.

The peaceful rolling hills and farmlands immediately provide a sense of relaxation. The Kangaroo River provides gentle canoeing and kayaking pleasure downstream from the historic Hampden Bridge (built 1896). The main village has a pub, a few cafes, art galleries, antique and giftware shops. It is a popular destination with day-trippers and can be combined with a return trip to Sydney via the south coast towns of Berry, Gerringong and the rainforest at Minnamurra National Park.
